Poketo Pop up shop at Rare Device
December 4, 2009– January 26, 2010; kick-off party: December 4, 7-9 pm
San Francisco design store and gallery, Rare Device, is proud to present host this season’s coolest shopping experience—the Poketo Pop-up Shop at Rare Device. The pop-up shop will occupy the Rare Device gallery December 4, 2009– January 26, 2010. A kick-off party will be held December 4 from 7-9 pm.
Especially for the event, Poketo is teaming up with San Francisco DJ, artist, and long time Poketo collaborator, Nathalie Roland who will be painting and drawing her magic on the walls of the pop-up shop for the event. Nathalie Roland is most known for her poster art with notable bands like Weezer, Scrabbel, Moggs, Goh Nakamura, The Matinees, and Invisible Cities((and interning at Ape Do Good)).
Rare Device is a store and gallery that features functional experiments and original ideas in art, design, craft and fabrication. Owners Rena Tom and Lisa Congdon constantly seek out objects that are beautiful, evocative, well constructed and thoughtful. We are pleased to bring to our San Francisco store an ever-growing roster of local, national and international artists and designers for a truly "rare" experience. Rare Device (raredevice.net) is located at 1845 Market Street between Valencia and Guerrero Streets. Store/gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday noon to 7pm and Sunday noon to 6 pm.

Wave Organ
The Wave Organ is a wave-activated acoustic sculpture located on a jetty in the San Francisco Bay. The concept was developed by Peter Richards and was installed in collaboration with sculptor and master stone mason George Gonzales. Inspiration for the piece came from artist Bill Fontana's recordings made of sounds emanating from a vent pipe of a floating concrete dock in Sydney, Australia.

The Bridge
Uploaded a few pictures of Barry's Bridge installed at the Di Rosa Preserve. The Di Rosa Preserve is really nice place to visit. A ton of art spread out over 460 arces in Sonoma. When i was up there, I got talking to one of the directors of the Preserve. I asked him about the lake and if they stocked it with fish or not. He said that they did and they are actually now having a problem where the bass have over populated the lake by breeding and some of the bass have gotten so big that they are feeding on the baby ducks. Never heard of that problem before.

Does anyone know where are all the good lakes/swiming holes around in this area???? No one seems to know. We went up to Bass Lake last year, and that's place is most epic, but there has to be others. Do you have any suggestions??
